Last-day Events: Daniel & Revelation
Junior 2nd Semester Bible

SCRIPTURAL TITLE: Daniel & Revelation
PERSONAL TITLE: Why I AM A Seventh-day Adventist

Is Jesus coming?  When?  What will happen before and when He comes?  What should I do about it?  Daniel and Revelation give God’s answers to these questions, but their deep symbolism can intimidate even good Bible students.  Some Christians become bewildered, frustrated, discouraged, and even depressed through improper understanding of these books.  But God intends his message to be understood.  Revelation 1 says, “He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw.”

To help Bible students, Jesus gives a method for studying: “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near…blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book” (Rev. 1:3; 22:7).  We will seek God’s blessing as we put this method to work: we will read to understand what it means, listen to discover its relevance in our life, and take it to heart by searching for ways to put it into action.

This semester, we will learn not only about Last Day Events and how the Seventh-day Adventist church was formed because of the study of these books, but also a method of studying the Bible.  Third quarter we will study Daniel using Phase 1—read to understand what it says.  Fourth quarter we will study Revelation adding Phase 2—understand and experience.
